Project Scope: 500MW Offshore Wind Farm with 140 Wind Turbines.
In 2010 Airconmech Ltd. were contracted to provide the cooling system for each turbine to what is now the worlds largest wind farm – the 500MW Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm. The location is approximately 23km off the Suffolk coast and adjacent to 2 sand banks known as the Inner Gabbard and The Galloper.
The project featured the installation of 140 Siemens 3.6MW offshore wind turbines with a maximum installed capacity of 504MW, sufficient to power over 415,000 homes.
The onshore work site was located at the Port of Vlissingen in the Netherlands, where direct employees of Airconmech were operating to ensure that the quality in our workmanship continued from our factory, where all the components for the system were manufactured, right through to the completion of the project.
